Infective Control : NewGenn® High Level Disinfectant

Disinfectants are often unpleasant products making them unsuitable for use near children and favouring the tendency to clean often and disinfect rarely. Unfortunately that philosophy allows dangerous microbes such as Noro-like viruses to remain a constant hazard. That partly explains the high incidence of household infections around the world.

A technical fact that favours the dangerous microbes is that many detergents chemically inactivate many disinfectants so on the rare occasion that a disinfectant is used it may be inactivated by the detergent residues on the surface. The person using the product performs the task in good faith but if the disinfectant is inactivated the microbes can survive to infect people in the household.

NewGenn® High Level Disinfectant or HLD has rapid activity against bacteria in the tough European standards test EN 1276. It is also effective against many viruses including Norovirus.

It is supplied as a concentrated liquid and at the one percent user dilution it has no odour, making it a pleasant disinfectant. In fact the one percent user dilution is very close in chemistry to the liquid used in NewGenn? Wet Wipes and NewGenn? Foam Hand Rub, and both products are selected by users because of the nice feel left on skin.
